Developmentally Appropriate Practices eBook (English)

Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) are a set of educational practices in preschool education, which require the integration of the basic principles of development and learning of preschool children. DAPs recognize development as holistic, i.e. the result of a holistic process, in which skills, abilities and knowledge build on pre-existing ones and evolve with increasing complexity. For DAP, play is an important means of development and learning, as challenging learning experiences, just above children's abilities, are encouraged with the aim of strengthening partnerships and moving to more complex levels of knowledge and skills.

In the framework of the CHILD project, a book was written that presents both the theoretical framework of DAP and practical examples of application from real school classrooms. In addition, the book deals with ethical and ethical issues, while highlighting the role of digital tools in DAP design, through practical examples as well.
